Little Bloke - Big Cause

This received today May 13th by email from James Gurney...

I believe we can get in behind this cause and help Chuck and his family through these very difficult times, so get your fundraising hats on and lets start working out what we can do.

Any ideas just message us through the email form, go to the guestbook, or start a thread on Facebook.

We have decided we are going to organise the CX again (Pain Train mainly + a few clubbies) the main reason though, is it will also be a fundraiser and all the profit we make is for a young fella and his family from friendly MTB community.

Charlie (Chuck as he is known as) is 3 and has a brain tumour so has been going through the chemo etc and will continue to have to do it for another year. His parents and especially Rick, are long standing NZ MTB community stalwarts and awesome people, who are struggling financially (with 2 kids to look after, while Rick works, Keighley can't and is in Starship in Christchurch with Chuck + flights/long road trips to see each other not that often etc). Rick services all FOX forks in NZ, so is well known by all bike shops, also used to be the face behind Jungle Coffee and associated sponsorship of events etc, used to race at the top end of the sport and was involved in getting the MTB movement kicking off in this country etc. Has been featured in NZMTB magazine also due to all this (last year some time). So all for a good cause.

I'm going to talk to Russ, about a kids race also, run by NBB? Could link you guys to our blogsite and event no problem. Like us, you represent the more social side of cycling, which as your website says, is the future of the sport ;-). Bushlove racing have a similar ideas (if not a bit more competitive focus) who are from Wellington. They will come for up for the cause - most of them know Rick and family also.

A website for Charlie is being built and should be on-line by May 26th, so check in there for regular updates and info on events and activities.
